My First Polish Haul

I'm in trouble.

I'm suddenly addicted to nail polish.

I'm a bad nail polisher, but suddenly, when I saw all those nail polishes, OMG, I've got to have them.

So it ended up with my first haul... and many more to come.
I've already placed orders for 10 more nail polishes... (headache) I'm such a big spender.

 So here are my first haul... all nail polishes are from OPI, except the Seche Vite Top Coat since I've seen some really good reviews on it.

How did I choose my first haul? Internet research!
I choose all based on swatches that I've seen, under fluorescent and natural sunlight.
FYI, all these pictures are taken under natural sunlight. I've adjusted the camera setting to their most accurate colours. I would say they look 95% - 97% accurate.

My favourite in this haul is My Daddy's The King. I was very lucky to have gotten this because I've read that they discontinued it. :(

It's a light peachy- pink colour that goes well with any skintone. Perfect for french manicure imho.

I used Dulce De Leche on my toes. It's very opaque, covers well with just 2 coats. It's the darkest among all three. I'll promise you swatches of it very soon.

The most lightest of all three is Hawaiian Orchid. It's very very sheer, and needs maybe 3 coats, I'm not very sure of that because I layered it with My Daddy's the King after 1 coat. It's more to sheer pink, very shiny and easy to apply. Very suitable for a natural nail look.

 I haven't experiment thoroughly with the colours yet because I have to meet up some big shots in the next few days, so I don't wanna meet them with my awesome nails looking weird. Just 1 coat of Hawaiian Orchid. But I'll definitely go crazy on them after that.

Product Review: Cyleina Organic Rice Bran Soap

After seeing so many rave reviews online about Cyleina Organic Soap, I decided to succumb into the evil temptation of buying!!!

I bought three Cyleina Organic Soap in my haul, all strongly recommended by the seller, and all best sellers, which are: Cyleina Organic Rice Bran Soap (100g) , Cyleina Black Pearl Mini (45g), and Cyleina Organic Oats and Honey (100g).

Where to buy:
Since it's a product from Philipine, you can't get it here locally yet, but there are many online sellers carrying this product. It typically ranges from RM20 - RM25, you can probably get it 1 or 2 ringgit cheaper if you look around.

What Cyleina Organic Rice Bran claims to do:
For oily/acne/pimple skin, exfoliates skin, removes blemishes and dead skin, containes vitamin E to decelerates skin aging.

What I personally think:

I was cheated into buying this. :(
Yeap, you heard me right, cheated. Cheated from all the great rave wow awesome reviews.
It's lousy, it doesn't work for me, and I'm utterly disappointed.

FYI, I have buffalo skin. Harsh soap like Kao, Lux etc has no effect on me.
When I first received it, I love the smell from the soap. It smells so sweet and natural, sort of like yummy honey milk. From advice of others, I cut it into quarters, because as it is natural organic soap, it doesn't contain chemicals, so it will melt very fast when in contact with water. Cut them into 4 pieces will make it last longer.

Excitedly, I bathe myself using the soap. It starts to smell weird, maybe it's the coconut oil smell.


It lathers very well, just like how a normal soap does. Lots and lots of bubbles. After rinsing with water, then I realised... it dries my skin so so so so badly. It's like I used floor detergent to wash my body. I could feel my body squeaky clean, literally. All my natural lipid and oil are stripped. My skin has that very tight feel when it is totally stripped of  oil, it's just like those normal RM1 for a piece soap.

Nevertheless, I continue using the soap. However, after 3 days, I find that it was too too harsh and drying that I use it on alternate days. After 1 month, finally, I just think it's time to stop. It is so drying that the skin on my arms started to flake slightly and you can see tiny white flakes by the light. Not only that, my elbow started to get really dry and harsh. :(

Maybe because it doesn't contain fragrance, my body smells weird. It doesn't have the yummy smell of the soap. It leaves a weird smell, maybe it's coconut oil that it contains... anyway, I don't smell yummy, but weird, like oil.

Pros:
Exfoliates skin

Cons:
Quite pricey in Malaysia.
Very harsh and drying.
Smells weird (personal opinion)

Will I recommend it?
No. Unless you need a really harsh soap, I wouldn't recommend it. It's too drying and harsh. I wouldn't get cheated by online reviews, unless there are like.. thousands of great reviews on it. It's just too bad, I really had high hopes for it. Probably it's just not suitable for me.

P.S. If anyone wants to try, I'd be happy to sell it to you at a low low price. I still have half of the soap, 2 pieces of 1/4 soap cut using a clean knife stored in my cupboard. And I'm definitely not continuing it anymore.

P.P.S: Currently the other two soaps are under trial period. I will leave a review after using them for a period of time.

Review: Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild

The first step of Clinique 3-step skincare routine

Clinique claims:

- It is a non-drying formula, maintains protective lipids.
- Works to loosen surface flakes
- Leaves skin feeling fresh, clean, comfortable.

Direction to use: 

A little goes a long long way. A pea size is enough for me. I'd distribute it evenly on my palms with two swipes and lather it on my face in circular motions, concentrating on an area at a time. I like to wet my hand with a little water, and wash my soap laden face in circular motions again just to make sure I get all the areas. After that, rinse throughly.

What I think:
Priced at RM 80 for 200ml, I'd say this is a higher end facial cleanser.
It is a clear watery-like liquid and the smell reminds me of mouthwash or the dentist's office. Not strong enough to be off-putting, but it's there. It leaves my face clean, not tight, and generally, it works as what a cleanser should do. Clean my face. I think it does a good job because I don't see any of my sunscreen or makeup on my toner cotton pad after cleaning my face.



Pros:
Removes sunscreen and makeup well
No tightness experienced

Cons:
Price is a little steep

Overall:
I think I can find a similar cleanser with a lesser amount of money. It works well as a cleanser, but the price is too steep considering the fact that it only cleanses. But as of now, I'm stuck with it until I finish it, or until I think it's time to chuck it aside.

I'd recommend it to those who has normal to dry skin, who just wants a face free of sunscreen residue and dirt. For oily skin, you might find the non-mild version more suitable.
